What to take from it #
Two things generalise from this rank. One doesn't.
What doesn't generalise is the number itself. Madhvan Mahajan took AIR 44 on 12,000 questions — an eighth of this. Treating 90,000 as the target misreads the table; see the full comparison.
The numbers #
Uplakshya finished 498 marks above the score that qualified, and four marks below the highest in the country. Both gaps matter, and they say different things.
