NEET 2020 Result - Result Date, Scorecard, Merit List and Qualifying Percentile

NEET result 2020 will be declared by the National Testing Agency (NTA) in the last week of September. The result of NEET 2020 will be uploaded on the official website of NTA. To download the NEET 2020 result, candidates will have to log in to their registered accounts on the official website. NEET scorecard can also be downloaded using the same method. Candidates must note that the result of NEET 2020 will not be sent by post under any circumstances.

CBSE has decided to reduce the syllabus from Class IX to XII and this could also have an impact on the syllabus of NEET 2021. However, for those who are in class 11 or 12, their focus should be Exam Preparation. NEET syllabus is divided into four subjects - Physics, Chemistry, Botany and Zoology. Students need to complete all 97 chapters of the NEET Syllabus in order to score a good rank in NEET Exam. The announcement of the NEET result of 2020 will be accompanied by the release of the final answer key. Candidates must note that the result of NEET 2020 will be final. NTA will not entertain any requests for the re-evaluation of the answer sheet post the declaration of the NEET 2020 result. The role of NTA is limited to the released of NEET result 2020 and preparation of the merit list. Candidates who qualify NEET 2020 will be eligible to participate in the counseling process which will be conducted at both state and national level. 

It is important that the person scores minimum qualifying marks. The scorecard for NEET 2020 contains candidates’ All India Rank (quota and category), overall & sectional marks and percentile. The counseling procedure will be started after the result declaration. 

NEET Qualifying Percentile

  1. For the Unreserved category, the qualifying percentile is the 50th percentile
  2. For Physically Handicapped the qualifying percentile is the 45th percentile
  3. For Scheduled caste/Scheduled Tribe/ OBC the qualifying percentile is 40th percentile

●  Candidates securing higher marks in Chemistry

●  Candidates with less number of attempted wrong questions in all the subjects

●  Candidates older in age will be preferred

How to check NEET Result?

NTA will announce NEET Result online after evaluating the answer sheets thoroughly. The steps to check the NTA NEET Result are given below:

  1. Visit the official website of NEET at nta.ac.in.
  2. Click on NEET Result.
  3. Enter the required credentials to get NEET Results.
  4. Enter your NEET credentials – Roll No. and Date of Birth and then submit it after verifying the entered details.
  5. NEET Result will be displayed on the screen.
  6. Download and take a printout of the NTA NEET Score Card. 

NEET Result 2020 and the Merit List

After the declaration of result, NEET 2020 merit list will be prepared by the exam authority on the basis of marks obtained by the candidates in the NEET-UG exam. NEET-UG merit list will have All India Ranks of the candidates. Apart from the merit list released for All India Quota counselling, a separate merit list for NEET-UG will be released state wise. The merit list of NEET 2020 will consist of the names and ranks of the candidates who successfully clear the entrance exam. Candidates must note that two different merit lists of NEET 2019 will be released by NTA. One merit list will be for 15% All India Quota (AIQ) seats and the other will be for 85% State quota seats.

Multiple lists are released based on the category of the candidate. An overall NEET merit list is also released which has details of all the candidates who have cleared the examination. The merit lists of NEET are then shared by the NTA with the different bodies responsible for the counseling process. It is basis this NEET merit list, that the state and central seat allotment lists are prepared.

 

NEET Scorecard 2020

Candidates who qualify the examination can download the scorecard of NEET 2020 online. It is important to note that those who do not score above the qualifying examination will not be issued the NEET scorecard 2020. The candidate will require the NEET 2020 scorecard during the counseling process, thus, they are advised to keep it safe till the admission process is over.

What happens when two or more candidates secure the same marks in NEET 2020 Result? Owing to a large number of test-takers, it is not rare for two or more candidates to secure the same marks in this examination. However, such candidates cannot share the same rank in NEET 2020 merit list. Hence, NTA has a tie-breaking mechanism in place for such situations. The actual admission process begins after the announcement of NEET result. Candidates must then prepare themselves for the NEET 2020 Counseling process by doing their research on the colleges that they can apply for. A. Yes, AIIMS and JIPMER will now take admissions on the basis of NEET result 2020. After the implementation of NMC Act, NEET is the sole entrance examination for admission to UG medical courses in India.

Q. Will the result of NEET 2020 be published in newspapers?

A. No, NEET results will not be published in the newspapers. Candidates will have to log in to their registered accounts on the official website of NTA to check the result of NEET 2020.

A. Yes, you can download the result of NEET 2020 any number of times. However, candidates are advised to save a soft copy of their result, as the result link may not work when the candidates need to download the scorecards.
