What the NMC actually notified — unit by unit, subject by subject — plus the exam pattern, where the marks actually sit, and every chapter page.

In short
The NMC syllabus lists 20 Physics units, 20 Chemistry units and 10 Biology units. The paper is 180 questions for 720 marks in three hours, with +4 for a correct answer and −1 for a wrong one.
Those 50 units break down into the 97 chapters you actually study — listed in full further down, each linking to its own questions, videos and tests.
Nothing has changed for NEET 2027. The syllabus in force is still the reduced one the NMC notified in 2023, and no revision has been published since — so the units and the 97 chapters below all carry over unchanged.
The National Medical Commission notified the reduced syllabus on 22 Oct 2023; NTA confirmed it on 22 Nov 2023. These are the units, verbatim.
NTA notifies the syllabus as units, and units are not chapters. "Properties of Solid and Liquids" is one notified Physics unit; in the NCERT books you study it as two separate chapters. That is why 50 notified units become the 97 chapters listed further down — and why a unit list on its own is close to useless for planning revision.
Read the units to know what is examinable. Read the chapter lists to know what to study.

A wrong answer costs you five marks relative to leaving it blank — four you don't gain, one you lose. That arithmetic is the whole argument for accuracy over coverage in the last month.
Biology is half the paper, and the best return on a chapter of revision — 9.5 marks per chapter against Chemistry's 5.6.

Chemistry is the awkward one: 32 chapters, the most of any subject, for a quarter of the paper. Physics covers the same quarter in 27. Nothing here can be skipped, but knowing a Chemistry chapter is worth less than a Biology one is the difference between revising by subject and revising by return.
This is arithmetic, not weightage data — it assumes questions spread evenly across chapters, and they do not. The per-chapter figures on each subject page are what to plan against. What the table settles is the coarser question: which subject repays a week of revision fastest.
The NMC-notified syllabus lists 20 Physics units, 20 Chemistry units and 10 Biology units — 50 in all. Those break into the 97 chapters listed above, which is the level you actually study and practise at.
What is the NEET 2027 exam pattern?
180 multiple-choice questions, all of which must be attempted, for 720 marks in three hours. +4 for a correct response, −1 for an incorrect one. Available in 13 languages.
What was removed from the syllabus?
Biology lost 11 Class 11 chapters and 5 Class 12 chapters outright. Physics lost topics from 9 Class 11 chapters and portions of 10 Class 12 chapters; Chemistry lost topics from 14 and 16 chapters respectively. Partial cuts are the ones worth checking chapter by chapter.
Is the deleted syllabus really out of the exam?
The notified syllabus is what NTA sets the paper from. Where a chapter is only partially cut, the safest read is the chapter page's topic list — it reflects what's still examinable rather than the whole old chapter.
Reading about NEET is not practising for it.
NEETprep is built around daily MCQ practice, exam-format tests and a rank predictor after every session — so you know where you stand while there's still time to move.
