Congenital diseases are birth defects, that can be acquired during the fetal stage of development or from the genetic make up of the parents. AIDS is not a genetic or fetal development disease. It only get acquired when the virus from the mother crosses the placental barrier to infect the unborn. AIDS is an infectious disease, it is not congenital.
