A hollow sphere which has a small hole is immersed in water to a depth of 30cm before any water enters in it. if surface tension of water is 75 dyne/cm , then find the radius of the hole in the meters. (I am not able to understand which concept / formula to use)

When we'll sink the the vessel, a membrane of water will form on the hole of the vessel and will not break till the excess pressure will not become dual to the pressure due to the height of the liquid upon it.

So if T = surface tension of liquid, h= height of the liquid upon it, g = acceleration due to gravity, @=density of the liquid, r= required radius of the vessel.

Then, 2T/r=@gh
