Mass decreases as the reacting anode material becomes aqueous and mass of cathode increase as material accumulates there.But if the gas is evolved at any electrode then there wont be change in mass of that electrode. also if reaction like Fe2+/Fe3+ is there there wont be change in the mass as no element is getting deposited
