Male honeybee develops from the female gamete without fertilizattion known as parthenogenesis. Female honey bee develops from zygote or fertilized egg. An unfertilized egg carries only half the number of chromosomes as compared to fertilized eggs. Therefore, male honeybee has 16 chromosomes whereas female has 32 chromosomes.
