How is a sol different from an emulsion?

A colloidal sol contains solid as the dispersed phase and liquid as the dispersion

medium e.g. paint, gold sol etc.

Emulsion: A colloidal dispersion in which the dispersed- phase and the dispersion 

medium are immiscible liquids, is known as emulsion e.g. milk, butter etc.
