Q.29 Climax stage is achieved quickly in secondary succession as compared to
primary succession. Why?

Class 12 pg 249,250
Ans. The rate of ecological succession is quicker in secondary succession as compared to primary succession as the soil (substratum) is already available for further succession. While in primary succession, succession starts from bare rocks. Which takes time for first colonization by plants as there are no nutrient holding mechanisms.
