PEP is primary CO2 acceptor in

1.  C4 plants

2.  C3 plants

3.  C2 plants

4.  both C3 and C4 plants

Cplants have evolved PEP as a primary acceptor of CO2 to avoid the sensitivity of RuBP carboxylase-oxygenase to high concentrations of oxygen so that they can avoid photorespiratory loss of CO2 occurring in them.

Other options (b), (c) and (d) are incorrect. PEP is not the primary acceptor in them.
