Compound can  be prepared by the reaction of-
1. Phenol and benzoic acid in the presence of NaOH
2. Phenol and benzoyl chloride in the presence of pyridine
3. Phenol and benzoyl chloride in the presence of ZnCl2
4. Phenol and benzaldehyde in the presence of palladium

Hint: Acyl chloride in the presence of base give ester with alcohol.

The desired compound is an ester and ester is obtained when acyl chloride, anhydride or acids reacts with alcohol. The desired product can be obtained when benzoyl chloride reacts with phenol in the presence of pyridine. The reaction is as follows:
