Alkyl fluorides are synthesised by alkyl chloride/bromide in presence of

........ or ...... .

1.  CaF2

2.  CoF2

3.  Hg2F2

4.  NaF

(b, c)

‘Alkyl fluorides are produced by alkyl chloride/bromide with the use of of CoF, or other halogen.

Only transition metal fluorides react with alkyl chloride/bromide to form allyl fluorides.

Alkali metal fluoride for example NaF and alkaline earth metal fluoride such as CaF do not

react to form fluorides. it is also known as Swarts reaction where alkyl fluondes are formed by

heating an alkyl chloride/bromide in the presence of AgF, GaF2,CoF2.
