The values of colligative properties of colloidal solution are of small order in comparison to those shown by true solutions of same concentration because of colloidal particles .........

1. Exhibit enormous surface area

2.  Remain suspended in the dispersion medium

3.  Form lyophilic colloid

4.  Are comparatively less in number

The value of colligative properties of the colloidal solution are of small order in comparison to those of true solution of the same concentration because colloidal particles are comparatively less in number.

This is due to the slightly large size of colloidal particles in comparison to particles present in true solution. The size of colloidal particles is between 1 nm to 1000 nm.
