If an external opposite potential is applied on the galvanic cell and the increased reaction continues to take place till the opposing voltage reaches the value of 1.1 V.
At this stage, no current flows through the cell and if there is any further increase in the external potential then the reaction starts functioning in the opposite direction.
Hence, this works as an electrolytic cell.
