An infinite line charge produces a field of 9 × 10⁴ N/C at a distance of 2 cm. Calculate the linear charge density.

The electric field produced by the infinite line charges at a distance d having linear charge density λ:

E = \frac{λ}{2 {πε}_{0} d} \Rightarrow λ = 2 {πε}_{0} dE

$λ = \frac{0 .02 \times 9 \times 10^{4}}{2 \times 9 \times 10^{9}} = 10 μC / m$

The linear charge density is 10 $μ$ C/m.
