14.10: Two amplifiers are connected one after the other in series (cascaded). The first amplifier has a voltage gain of 10 and the second has a voltage gain of 20. The input signal is 0.01 volt, calculate the output ac signal.

Hint: Total voltage gain of a two-stage cascaded amplifier is given by the product of voltage.
Step 1: Find total voltage gain.

Voltage-gain of the first amplifier, V $_{1}$ = 10
Voltage-gain of the second amplifier, V $_{2}$ =20
Input signal voltage = 0.01 V
Now,
$V = V_{1} \times V_{2} = 10 \times 20 = 200$

Step 2: Find the output ac-signal.
We have the relation:
$V = \frac{V_{o}}{V_{i}}$
$V_o=V \times V_{\mathrm{i}}=200 \times 0.01=2 V$
