Sir we call unicellular organisms as immortal because asexual reproduction is occurring and same genetic material is passed on to offspring but why don't we say plants as immortal because in them also asexual reproduction occurs that is no fusion of gametes eg. Grafting, from stem tubers , etc ?
No they are not as whole plant does not undergo sexual reproduction. Only part of the plant does that.
