(2) Multigene is group of similar genes. For ex globion gene family Gene duplication is the major phenomenon behind the origin of multigene families. The gene of α, β-chain of mamalian haemoglobin are coded by multigene families on chromosomes 16 and 11 respectively.

The upstream portion of nitrate reductase (NR) gene helps to provide induciele expression of heterologous genes because NR transcripts are induced by nitrate and repressed by ammonium.

Genes B, E and K overlap other genes in bacteriophage  ϕ × 174, which was the first DNA genome sequenced.

Structure gene are used for the production of a specific enzyme, or protion which is not involved in regulation.
