The Karnataka Examinations Authority (KEA) will be starting the Karnataka MBBS admission process most likely in the second week of June.

It is necessary for all the aspirants seeking a career in medicine to know about the total MBBS and BDS seats in Karnataka that are being offered. The responsibility of the NTA is limited to the conduct of the entrance examination, declaration of result and providing merit list to the Counselling Authorities.

Counselling and Admission Process of Karnataka NEET :

The Karnataka Examinations Authority (KEA) will be starting the Karnataka MBBS admission process most likely in the second week of June. The admission to Karnataka MBBS BDS will start with the invitation to fill the application form. It is mandatory to fill the application form for Karnataka MBBS admission to be considered eligible for the process. These candidates will be included in the provisional merit list of Karnataka MBBS admission.

The application and counselling process for Karnataka MBBS/BDS admission will be held in online mode while the document verification session will be conducted in offline mode.

There will be three rounds of Karnataka MBBS counselling - first, second and mop-up. An additional round of Karnataka MBBS counselling will be conducted if the seats remain vacant. Candidates will be given a security key after the verification of documents. With the security key, login to the applicant portal will be required to participate in the Karnataka MBBS counselling process.

So, Let’s take a quick view of the whole process of counselling :

Registration : The applicants are required to register online on the official portal.Fill all the details asked in the application form.Candidates need to upload the scanned photograph, signature and other documents as per directions. Pay the requisite counselling fee of Rs.650/- in case of general & OBC candidate and Rs.500/- in case of SC/ST candidate.The payment of counselling fee can be done through Bank Challan or Net Banking/Debit Card/Credit Card.

Choosing and locking : After login, candidates can fill their choices online in the ‘preference form’ that will appear on the computer screen.Candidates can choose the course as well as college of their preference and then lock-in the chosen preferences in the online portal.

Seat Allotment : The allotment list for the first, second and mop-up round containing names of the candidates in the order of merit will be published on the official website of Maharashtra MBBS admission. Seat allotment will be done on the basis of candidate’s choice filled, category, rank, and availability of seats.

Report to Alloted College : If a seat is alloted to the candidate, it’s his wish either to reject the allotment or accept it. The candidates who are allotted a seat will be required to report at the assigned college with the required documents, a demand draft of the prescribed fee amount, and two copies of the registration form for submission of the necessary documents.

After the final allotment, candidates can pay the fee and download the admission ticket from the concerned website. Candidates must carry the allotment letter along with other required documents while reporting to the college.
