NEET 2020 Notification, Application Form and Syllabus

NEET is shorthand for National Eligibility Entrance Exam and is the common entrance for all students aspiring to join the following undergraduate programs:

  1. Medicine (MBBS)
  2. Dental (BDS)

Admissions to about 93,919 MBBS and BDS seats in the medical and dental colleges of India other than AIIMS and JIPMER will be done on the basis of NEET scores. Admissions to AYUSH courses, B.Sc and AH medical courses are also through NEET. The following courses may also accept admission through NEET this year:

  1. Ayurveda (BAMS)
  2. Homeopathy (BHMS)
  3. Unani (BUMS)
  4. Physiotherapy (BPT)
  5. Naturopathy (BNYS)

NEET Application Form

Candidates are required to keep certain things handy before they start filling up NEET application form. Keeping all the required things ready beforehand ensures a smooth flow in the application process. Candidates are required to ensure that they use a compatible browser for the filling up the application form of NEET. The list of such things required for NEET application form has been provided below.

  • A valid Mobile Number
  • A valid Email Address
  • Class 10 details and Class 12 details
  • A photo-identity proof - Aadhaar Card number, Passport Number, ration card number, bank account, any other valid Govt. identity number 
  • Scanned images of passport sized photograph, and signature.
  • Credit/Debit card or Net Banking details (for online payment)

NEET Syllabus 

NTA has announced that there is no change in the NEET syllabus from the previous year. NEET syllabus comprises of topics from Physics, Chemistry, and Biology as per the NCERT curriculum of Class 11 and 12. The syllabus of NEET Examination is structured by Medical Council of India after considering the syllabus prescribed by various State boards as well as the syllabus prescribed by CBSE, NCERT, and COBSE in class 11th  and 12th Physics, Chemistry and Biology (Botany & Zoology) to ensure the uniformity in the medical education across the country.
